The funeral service that caters for everyone’s needs

hero

We at Alan Greenwood funeral services understand this is a concerning time for everyone. At this time, we are continuing to take the greatest care of our client families and arrange funerals across the country as we always have. We have applied significant exigence plans to ensure we are able to carry on caring for our client families and the deceased in the coming months with the utmost respect.

We are working closely with the local authorities and our colleagues within the funeral industry to ensure that we provide the services that are needed, also providing the necessary care and protection for both you and also our colleagues.

The situation will continue to change on an almost daily and hourly basis and we will acclimatise accordingly, but right now these are the actions that we have put in place to ensure the welfare of all.

Our procedures

We already work with the highest levels of hygiene and safety standards across all of our funeral homes. We have implemented additional supervision and cleaning procedures in line with guidance from Public Health England to ensure the safety of our staff and all visitors.

When you need to talk to us about arranging a funeral

  • If you are affected by Covid-19 or you are self-isolating, we have measures in place that will ensure we can still help you arrange a funeral for you.
  • Please call us first before coming to our funeral home so that we can give you the correct guidance.
  • We are here 24 hours a day seven days a week. You can find our local funeral home on this website, or you can speak us.
  • Please be persevering if we take a little longer to answer the telephone than normal, we are here for you.
  • If you have a funeral plan – there may be some changes with how it is used or what it covers. There may be some limits imposed in some areas of our service due to us observing the latest government guidelines. Please call us with your funeral plan documents and you will be given the appropriate guidance for you.
  • We will do our utmost to provide you with the dignified service that you need. However, there will be some areas where limitations based upon government guidelines that will have to be adhered to, all crematoriums and cemeteries are having to be restrictive with services and limiting the amount of mourners. We will advise you with clear guidance on what is possible during any arrangements

A Few Kind Words...

“Just a note to say a huge thank you to yourself and the wonderful team at Send Greenwoods, they took care of us all yesterday at Les Ingram’s funeral. I’ve really valued your help and support over the last few weeks and the wonderful men yesterday went beyond their ‘call of duty’. They were certainly there at our great time of need. Please pass on my thanks to everyone. I also enclose four more donations. Many thanks again.”

Judith Hookins

“I just wanted to drop you a line to say a massive thank you for everything you have done over the last two weeks. When I walked into Alan Greenwood’s on the 5th November I didn’t know where or how I was going to organise my lovely Mum’s funeral and the thought of it horrified me, you made a daunting job so much easier and were there to guide me all the way until the day of the funeral.”

I can’t thank you enough for your kind words, thoughts and help during this very difficult time. Losing someone as precious as mum is very hard but you helped so much. Thank you for everything you have done for mum, myself and my family.”

Sue, Mundy, Luke and Faye

“I would like to say a big thank you for everything. I had nothing to worry about, it all went so smoothly from the day of his death to the end of the funeral and in the circumstances could not have been better. Thank you so much.

I don’t have a great deal of experience in these matters, but compared to the other funeral directors I had to deal with, Greenwoods are the tops and you personally were a pleasure to deal with, you hit absolutely the right note.”

Ann Bishop

You made a very difficult time for us more bearable for which we are very grateful. Thank you also for enabling all Chris’s plans to come to fruition. His ‘send-off’ was exactly what he wanted. “Thank you very much indeed for all your professionalism, support and guidance throughout the whole process involved in caring for my mother.

From the moment we met the staff at Holmwood Nursing Home until my collection of thank you notelets for my father to use I felt that everything was conducted in a most efficient and sensitive manner. I know that Clive spent a good deal of time with you and I was so pleased that we were able to have such a beautiful service very soon after the passing of our dear mother and wife. With thanks once again”
